He is a Florida Board Certified Tax Attorney and Certified Public Accountant. He was formerly a trial attorney with the Office of Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service, Miami District Counsel Office and was responsible for the trial of Tax Court cases and handled cases involving the collection of federal taxes and criminal prosecution for violation of tax laws. Mr. Gomez received an L.L.M. Degree in Taxation in 1984 from the University of Miami School of Law, Miami, Florida, a Juris Doctor Degree in 1980 from Loyola University School of Law, New Orleans, Louisiana, and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with Honors in Accounting in 1977 from Florida International University, Miami, Florida.
